🪴 About Rooted Plant Animations

Some animated plants in this tileset include a static "root" frame placed on a neighboring tile — either above or below the animated part. This design improves modularity and works especially well with Unity’s Rule Tile system.

  • 🌱 The root frame is static — it does not animate and stays the same across all frames.
  • 🧩 Placement: The animated top (or stem) goes on one tile, and the root sits directly adjacent, usually vertically.
  • 🧰 Unity Note: I use Unity myself, so this setup is optimized for Rule Tiles where you can define top/bottom matching rules to combine animated and static tiles seamlessly.
  • ❓ Other Engines: I'm not sure if similar Rule Tile systems exist in other engines — feel free to adapt this approach as needed.

This is especially useful for modular plants, sprouts, or vines that grow out of terrain.

🎨 Art Style

Hand-crafted pixel art with attention to organic shapes and natural movement. The tileset uses a layered approach where static base tiles provide structure while animated decorations add personality and atmosphere.
